Why do we use a site map?

A site map (or sitemap) is the list of pages of a web site that are accessible to web crawlers or customers. Typically organized in hierarchical fashion, the site map defines the importance of key pages so Google knows how often to crawl them. For example, if you have a web page that is dynamically generated and displays the latest prices of a product, you will want to make sure Google is crawling this page.

A site map is a technical way to increase the number of indexed pages, increasing the potential search visibility of your domain.
