What is On-Page SEO?

When you hear the term On-Page SEO, it is likely that someone is talking about the Title and Description tags on the page. These tags are an important element of SEO because they indicate what each page is about. Search Engines read this information and depending on the quality of the copy, will use it in their search results index. If there is nothing available, or the tags are improperly set with irrelevant information, modern search engines like Google will write their own guess of what the site is about. This is one common example, there are many elements on a web page that can influence SEO.

On-Page SEO refers to anything that appears on the web page, such as HTML elements (H1, H2), alt and image tags, meta tags (like title and description) or any other website architecture.
